On Residency

We made it safely to Omaha two days ago. My dad flew to Knoxville and will return to Omaha on Sunday to drive back on Monday afternoon. My mom is here until Sunday morning when she will fly back to Denver. The place has new carpet and that looks really nice. It needs some other serious updating in the kitchen and one of the bathrooms especially. I've met one of my neighbors. We've made three trips to the hardware store already. Today we are going to try and paint my bedroom and get some of the wallpaper off in the kitchen. It's stuck on there pretty well. The place is starting to take shape. I have the living room set up as best as I can figure. It's long and narrow, so I have it divided into a section of a third and two thirds. It's not perfect but it'll do. When we packed, things ended up everywhere. There are parts of things that I have found and other parts that I haven't.

Orientation begins on Monday. My anatomy book is still AWOL, so I'm just going to have to buy another one and see what I can do with the one that is missing when it finally surfaces. I am going to try and meet with one of my classmates today. We are going to go exploring in the school.

I don't have internet access. I had to go the public library and set up an account. It's not a bad little place. I found it cool that they have a Willa Cather branch.

This should start to get interesting in a few days.
