Home again, home again.
I arrived home early this morning after a fog delay in Monterey which caused me to miss my scheduled flight out of San Francisco.
The group this year was calm and easy for the most part. We had one camper who earned the nickname of "EFC" or everybody's favorite camper because he wasn't. Other than that and the one alcohol incident, there were few problems.
On the last night, a marshmallow fight broke out at about 1:30 am. The room we were using for our office overlooked the common room a floor below. There are four large "windows" that allow one to look out and down. These openings also provided a wonderful vantage point for throwing the ammunition onto the students and RA's below.
The last night and day (yes, in that order) were hectic. We had two concerts on Sunday as well as no curfew. The mass exodus began shortly after the second concert ended and continued until noon the next day. Everybody had to be checked out and some had to be taken to the Monterey airport. Then we had to get to tearing down the office and loading it in the back of a Uhaul for the trip back up to SF.
I took a long nap this morning. It felt really good to take a shower in a private bathroom.
I spent most of my awake time today taking Sophie to the vet. She is having major problems getting around. She had a stint of really high blood sugar, but that has resolved itself as quickly as it came about. She got to go both to the normal vet and to a neurologist today, and it is now suspected that she has a very rare (acquired in cats) disease called Myasthenia. It's a good thing I love her as much as I do because she is costing me a fortune!
I'm going to end it here for now.
