This is a jumbled mess - sorry.

The camp was relatively calm for the first two weeks.  Last Friday night the craziness finally started.  There is a set or four boys, 15-16 years old, who are giving us a run for our money.  They are a good natured group, but they get wound up in time for 'in-room' and 'lights out'.  I have taken to doing rounds with one of my male RA's, Adrian.  We make rounds on his side, my side, and then we go down the hill to the late night practice rooms which are located in a nearby classroom building, to kick kids out.  We make this round twice a night at minimum, all depending on where we find our cherubs as they have come to be called.  Anyway, back to the story at hand.  These boys were wild on Friday.  They belong to Adrian and we would get them into their rooms and they would stand at the doors and shout to each other, because they were in their rooms after all.  They were laughing and we were laughing.   We would get them into their rooms, with the doors closed, and as Adrian and I were walking away, one of the doors open and somebody would shout, "the coast is clear!" so Adrian and I would have to turn around and put them all back.  I'd guess it took us 20 minutes to get just those boys settled.  Just a small side note, two of these boys are the same ones who had the washing machine incident.

Last night was bad.  The RA's had been up late at a "meeting" until 2 or 2:30.  I was just getting settled into bed when there was a loud banging on my door.  I ignored it once (bad head-RA!) and on the second time around, I dragged myself out of bed.  I get to the door and it is one of the older yet underage male campers telling me that his roommate is on the floor of the bathroom and he thinks he may have alcohol poisoning.  We go over there and spend the next three hours with said very drunk camper.  Another friend of his had been in the bathroom with him for an hour by the time I arrived.  The drunk camper couldn't get off of the floor at first but he knew exactly where he was and what day it was, so I figured that there was no need to take him into the ER.  I ran downstairs and got Adrian as the boys' RA had gone to bed with headphones on and couldn't be woken up.  Imagine the scene, one camper on the floor with his world spinning out of control, two others helping out, and two RA's, for three hours.  We actually had funny conversations.  I confiscated a lot of alcohol from the room.  It was 4:45 by the time I finally got to bed.  This morning, we had to figure out punishment.  He lost his car and he got a phone call home to his mom.  He had a lesson today.  We made him go.  When I went into his room to get him up he told me that he wasn't feeling very well.

I have been able to take a little nap today, but not long enough.  Tonight is dinner with Basil, my violin teacher.  The three of us RA's from Denver who are getting lessons have to take him out to a fancy dinner to pay for the lessons.  We are going to a place called Roy's in Pebble Beach.

I haven't been able to practice in the last few days.  I got my violin out and ready to go yesterday and it sat on my bed until I went to bed the first time at 2:whatever.  I have just gotten too busy or too tired.  The night before last I went to bed at 8:30 pm and slept until 8:00 am.  The other RA's took care of my girls.  I had only gotten around 3 hours of sleep the night before that.  I had done 2 hours of practicing and was going to practice more, I did get 20 minutes in, but I just got too tired and decided to lay down at 8:30 and I never got up again until the morning.

Saturday and Sunday I have office duty from 12-3am.  We need to have somebody in the office through the night and that is the shift I get as the Head RA.  There is no getting out of this for me.  I'll recruit a buddy.

That's all for now.
