I have so much to share.
1. I received a waiver for out of state tuition. That means that I am going to get to pay instate tuition! I keep the waiver as long as I keep my grades up. This is going to save me about $100,000 in debt over the next four years. woohoo.
2. The inspection is complete on the condo. It needs some repairs, so we offered them a slightly lower price and it's a done deal!
3. I got a bunch of stuff in the mail from UNMC about orientation, etc., so this whole medical school thing is really going to happen.
4. To address Sharon's question about what I meant by toasted, Steph is right, like being roasted but they were nice to me. Well, most of the time... :) I guess I have a bit of a history to share so y'all don't think I'm some sick pervert. There is a shot called a Blow Job. Depending on who makes it, it has two or three types of liquor and is topped with whipped cream. I am (was...) part of the DI committee for Jefferson county. This is a group of people 20 or so people who like to have a good time and who really enjoy teasing me at every opportunity. It's all in fun. Long story short, we were at dinner at Old Chicago (Pizza and Beer) and things, like green olives and crushed red pepper, were getting put into people's drinks. It got a little crazy, and since I am the easy target, I lost a few beers this way. The final beer that I lost was because of our waiter, Sully. My hands smelled like olives, from the olive juice in the big jar of olives that was placed on our table and said olives ending up in various beers a few of which were my doing, and I decided to ask Sully to hold my beer for me while I ran into the restroom to wash my hands, being that I don't care for the smell of olives. I figured that Sully was safe. I was wrong. I came out of the restroom in time to see money exchanging hands and my beer getting very foamy. It had been violated with the pepper. To make up for it, Sully brought me the aforementioned shot. The whipped cream can tucked into his belt. As he was walking towards me, I exclaimed, "You brought me a blow job!" and started laughing (harder than I already was). At this point all eyes at the large table immediately were on me. Apparently I was the only one who knew that particular drink, which is somewhat understandable since the rest of the committee members are old enough to be my parents. Sully set the shot down on the table and proceeded to put the whipped cream on top of the liquid. At least he tried, but it misfired and landed in the lap of Frank, my cohort in crime, which made the situation even more entertaining. We all had a good laugh. The rest of the story is uninteresting, so I will leave it there.
Back to the spoiled and toasted. Spoiled was to the Omni hotel with my mom. We got turn down service and a great breakfast and free room service drinks in the morning, not to mention the massage. It was niiiiice.
Toasted was the end of the season the next day for the JeffCo crew. They said a lot of really nice things about me and showered me with gifts. (There is a thank you note in the near future, but I want to make sure it is close enough to the first meeting of the season as not to get lost...) Last year at this event, I tried and tried to water ski. It is something that I had done before but for some reason Jim was screwing up his driving of the boat and I couldn't get up. It was very funny to those watching me. Start the boat, stop the boat, start the boat, stop the boat... I was actually the scheduled entertainment for this year too, but I managed to get up rather quickly even with my broken and discolored toe. I'm glad Jim finally learned to drive the boat!
That's it for now.
