Middle of week 2

It looks like this year is full of group sessions. That means less lecture and less memorization of facts from a piece of paper. This week has been wonderful. Total, I will have 8 hours of lecture in my hard science. That is way under the 15 it could be. This is a good thing, since I have a three day weekend and I have been getting back up to speed a little more slowly than expected.

I was supposed to have my first violin lesson of the school year today, but my teacher had a situation come up that needed to be taken care of right now. I was at his shop when he told me. Good thing it is only 5 minutes away. He insisted that he look at my violin first, though. I told him that there had been something strange at the junction of the fingerboard and the neck and I thought it was either glue oozing out because of the hunidity in Boston or mold (eewwwwww). He assured me that it was glue and took my fiddle downstairs to get a better look. The fingerboard is a bit loose but not enough to make any difference in anything.

There is an interview session on Friday. I think I will go and visit the potentials and tell them how great UNMC is. I won't even have to miss class, and I will get (another) free lunch.

On the topic of free lunch, I did something the other day that I have never done before. I went to one of the meetings and gor the free pizza and left. I didn't even stay for the speaker. I felt bad, but it was a busy day and I had things to get to. I'm sure that my dues in ther clubs have paid for other people to do the same thing.

Better get back to my studies.
