1lb 9 oz
I'm doing labor and delivery right now. I was on call on Friday through the night and a little girl was born at 23 6/7 weeks gestation. The family had decided, when it became apparent that delivery was inevitable in the near future, that they wanted comfort measures only. She survived about an hour. It was very, very sad, but an experience I'm glad I had. That night, we also had two babies born at 34 weeks. They both went to the NICU and are about 3lb each. The other NICU admit from Friday was a baby of a diabetic mother, which was 9lb 6oz at 37 weeks. I slept almost all day Saturday, after getting only 2 hours of sleep while on call.
Third year has been stressful but wonderful. And very busy. I'm slowly getting smarter. One more week of L&D and then two weeks in the clinic to conclude my OB/GYN rotation.
Dinner for tonight is black bean soup thanks to the Women's Bean Project. I have invited myself over to the neighbors to share, but I haven't heard back. We'll see what happens.
