abdominal muscles
valsalva
has nothing to do with the abdominal muscles
but today we got to them. all 4 of them. hands in the pockets, right angle to hands in the pockets, straight across, and straight up and down. six packs are caused by tendons. abdominal fat peels off really easily. the ingunal canal is a continuation (sort of) of the abdominal muscles. except for that part that comes from the testicles.
our group returned to 5 today after having been 4 for the last week. smaller numbers are easier.
today is a short day. i'm done at noon, which is in an hour and fifteen minutes. i'm still feeling good about studying. we got a lot of new words today but they aren't that hard. when we went over the stuff in the inguinal canal, i was able to reall more than i thought and it won't take that long to get the rest. this is good because i have a little bit of catching up to do from last week. the truth of the matter is that there is always catching up to do if one wants to have a life. i'm nowhere near as far behind as i was last test at this time.
off to PBL (problem based learning). PBL is the medical school equivalent of story time in kindegarden. we get snacks and a story and everybody takes turns reading. the non-kindergarden part is that we have to think critically about the story. there's even an activity after the story. yet another reason why medical school is like kindegarden.
