My adventure yesterday
Yesterday and today are for getting two houses cleaned and ready to go. Marcus is having an open house tomorrow and I will officially sign the paperwork and have pictures taken tomorrow. As I was over at Marcus' house doing some 'deep cleaning' on the bathtub, I got splashed in the eye. I called poison control and they told me to flush my eye for 20 minutes and then get my butt to the ER since one of the cleaners I was using was CLR, and acid. Have you ever tried to flush your eye with tap water for 20 minutes? You should, just for fun. And then remember that I couldn't rub it either. So off to the ER I go and they take me back right away! I was amazed as I expected to wait in the waiting room for a while. I guess when you have a potential chemical burn in your eye you get the express treatment. They then flushed my eye with 2 liters of saline. There is this device they put in your eye that hooks up to IV tubing and in goes to the fluid. You should all try this thing too. The design flaw is that there is no nice way for the fluid to exit the eye, so I got plenty wet! The warned me and I took off my sweatshirt to have something warm and dry to wear home. Before they put the device, which is kind of like a thick, giant contact, into my eye, the very nice nurse told me that they have drops that will make it not hurt. Then he didn't give them to me!! I got them before the second liter went in. It's a fine art, flushing an eye out. The end point??? When the pH is where it should be and stays there for 30 minutes. Lucky for me it happened quickly. They had warned me that it may take 5 liters. So after 3 hours in the ER, all of that being attended to, I left. I didn't feel like making dinner so I went to Qdoba and got nachos. I wonder what Marcus' house looks like??? I left in kind of a hurry. Better than mine, I'm sure. Speaking of the mess here, I'm gong to get cleaning now. WooHoo
