Quick Study Break
Who would have thought that learning information from just three weeks would be this overwhelming. It's what I expected when I started school, but holy cow!
Much the opposite as when I first began medical school, I have decided that the library is infact a good place to study, as long as I can have a study room with a white board and markers (all of which I can check out in two hour blocks from the nice people at the circulation desk). There are only 15 (I think) study rooms, however, so getting one during the day is difficult, especially when a test is so near. It's now 8:15 and I think they all are full. I have one. It's nice to be able to take off my shoes and talk outloud without bothering other people and without the distractions of home like the constantly on internet, the TV, and the kitchen. Oh, and let's not forget that I like to keep the heat down as low as I can stand, which recently has been somewhere between 55 and 65. This means that I study under blankets and I have my microwaveable warmer handy too.
Speaking of food, I feel like I have been pigging out this week. Maybe it's my response to stress. Maybe it's because I went to the store and got food. Maybe it's because thinking this hard burns calories.
I have had a difficult time getting back into the swing of things as far as exercise is concerned. I just feel like I don't have the time. I have been doing the minimum required - 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. We learned in class that 5 is about the max you should do, and increasing to 6 times a week has very little benefit. Another thing we have learned about is cholesterol. Exercise increases HDL, which is good, unless you already have high HDL that contribute greatly to a high cholesterol. Oh, and by the way, the new limit for high total cholesterol is 180. Low dose Lipotor is good.
That's all the time I have. I'll be here until at least 10:00, and then home to study there for a while.
